Charges were then preferred against Brother in the following words. To Wit
To the Worshipful Master Wardens and Brethren of Lodge W. D.
I hereby prefer the following charges against Bro.
1st. For wronging a Brother Master Mason.
2nd. For speaking evil of a Brother Master Mason.
3rd. For threatening violence on a Bro Master Mason, C. G. Webb
Whereupon it was resolved that Bro be cited to appear before the Lodge on the first thursday of next month to answer to the above charges, and that the secy. notify him
The Lodge then proceeded to Ballot for for the 2nd. degree of Masonry and the Ballot found clear. Whereas
The Lodge then enquired of Jos. Smith as the price of the Room and he stated that it would be $20 per month, reserving the privilege of the room when unoccupied by the Lodge for the use of a school being taught in it.
Resolved by the Lodge that we rent the room at the sum of twenty Dollars per month. with the above privileges for Jos. Smith
It was then resolved that the Secy. Settle with Bro Jos. Smith for the rent of the room for the past year
No further business appearing in this degree the master Masons Lodge was closed in due form until Wednesday Evening the 7th. Inst.
A Lodge was then opened in the first degree of Masonry. a Fellow Craft and an E. Apprentice were announced & permitted to enter.— The Lodge then proceeded to initiate & into the 1st. degree of Masonry
No further business appearing in this degree. the Lodge closed in due form ontheS .
