Fordham’s account in the treasury ledger notes a credit recorded 26 December 1843 “by city order allowed for services as collector and dated Novr. 11th. 1843” for $60.00. (Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger, 86; see also Claim from Elijah Fordham, 11 Nov. 1843; and Pay Order, Willard Richards to William Clayton for Elijah Fordham and Others, 15 Dec. 1843.)

There is a credit in the treasury ledger recorded 10 December 1844 “by cash paid W. Clayton” for $4.94 and a debit in Clayton’s account recorded 16 December 1844 “to cash” for $4.94. This table possibly corresponds with those ledger entries. (Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger, 20, 74.)
