Book IV
1 The spirit <of> kindness should O friends exist
And we in doing good should all enlist
The tatling lying tales we should despise
And let the prophets <true> our course advise
The prophets true O friends can teach us right
And we their precious words should never sli<-[ght>
Shall we be guided by the tatler’s tongue
Which is <O friend> with lies so often sung
2 Awake awak O friends attention give
And let us friends in peace together live
We should O friends despise The scorners lies
Who aims of putting out our common eyes
Our prophet we O friends should all sustain
That he to us O friends may eyes remain
We must take care good care of common Eyes
We have a prophet true who can advise
3 We have a prophet true we will uphold
And God will unto us his truth unfold
And we will walk in peace along the narrow <way>
And all the great commands of God obey
Let us O friends our powrs no more abuse
But paths of peace and goodness ever c[h]oose
And God Omnipotent our souls will bless
And us uphold in hours of deep distress
4 Let us O friends awake we must awake [p. [17]]
