That there shall be a Regimental court of assesments of fines in each regiment to be composed of the Col as prest Lieut Col Majr, & Captains as members & the Adjt. as secty
It shall be the duty of said court to assess fines on all delinquent officers, non-commissioned officers muscians & privates belonging to such Regt in conformity to the provisions of this act.
It shall like wise be the duty of each court of assesment to fine any member of said court who does not attend the same according to the pro[v]isions of this act. also
Each court of assesment shall meet at 10 o’clock A. M. and continue <​in session​> from day to day, untill. the buisness shall be finished at such places as the Presidents respectively may appoint on the Regt and

parades and it shall be the duty of all dlinquents so returned, to appear without further notice at said court, to make a lawful excuse, if any they have; and should any person feel themselves agrieved by the decision of said court, they may appeal to the Col <​Prest of the board​> for a new hearing, who, on recieving satisfactory that it is just, shall grant the same, by giving an order to the collector to suspend the collection of such fines, & if the person so applying for a new hearing shall fail to attend at the next court of assesment or shall not be able to show cause why he should not be fined it shall be the duty of said court to issue their warrant anew for the amount, with an addition of 20 pr cent
The Presiding officer of each board shall cause the secratary of the same to keep a record of the proceedings of the court, in a book kept for that purpose & make out therefrom a certified list of the names of the persons fined, with the fine or fines annexed to each name; uppon which list it shall be the duty of the presiding officer to issue, and furnish to the collector, the following warrant to be within 30 days from the court of assesment, which shall be his authority for collecting & paying over the same to wit [p. 12]
