And it shall be the duty of all officers authorized to appoint staff officers by <virtue of> this act, to accept their resignations as above, and fill all vacancies in their own staff by appointment and make returns thereof to the proper off officer as in other cases of election
The manner of voting shall be, by the elector addressing the judges of election in his own proper person, and with an audible voice, to be heard by the judges & clerk, name the person voting he votes for, & the clerk shall enter the name of the person voting, & his vote accordingly in a poll book to be provided for that purpose; whi[ch] poll book shall be, (as near as may be) in the followng form, to wit,
A poll book of an election held at [blank], in the county of in the (name the Cohort Regt &c as the case may be), of the of the Illinois Militia on the [blank] day of [blank] 18’[blank].
