THE STATE OF , to the Sheriff of greeting.
You are hereby commanded to summon Porter Yale and Stephen Yale that, all excuses and delays set aside, they be and appear before Judge forthwith to testify the truth of their knowledge, touching a certain matter of controversy, before him depending, between the State of plaintiff, and Joseph Smith & others defendant, on the part of the ; hereof fail not, and fail not at your peril, and have you then and there this writ. Witness my hand and seal, this 11th day of November 1838
