Biography

26 Mar. 1810–29 Mar. 1853. Blacksmith, farmer. Born at Stockholm, St. Lawrence Co., New York. Son of Luther Fuller and Lorena (Lovina) Mitchell. Married Esther Victoria Smith, cousin of JS, 8 Mar. 1832, at Stockholm. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Oct. 1833, at Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. Moved to Kirtland, by 1836. Received elder’s license, 29 Oct. 1836, at Kirtland. Stockholder in Kirtland Safety Society. Ordained a seventy by Zebedee Coltrin, 3 Jan. 1837, at Kirtland. Served missions to New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Ohio, 1837–1838. Moved to Nashville (later Galland), Lee Co., Iowa Territory, by 1840. Colonel in Lee Co. militia, 1841. Appointed to serve mission to Chicago, 1842. Appointed to serve mission to Vermont, 1843. Moved to Voree, Racine Co., Wisconsin Territory, 1846. Affiliated with James J. Strang’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1846–1847; excommunicated, 1847, at Voree. Moved to Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, by 1850. Died at Des Moines.
