KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we and of the county of and State of are held and firmly bound unto Joseph Smith Trustee in Trust to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of the county of and State of his heirs successors in Office and assigns, in the sum of Fifty—— dollars, for the payment of which, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators, firmly by these presents.
NOW THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That whereas, the said and —— have this day sold unto the said Joseph Smith—— —— a certain lot of ground, situated, lying and being in the county of and State of , and described on the plat of the s addition to as being Lot No. 29 in Block No. 9 and received in payment for said lot notes of hand bearing even date herewith, for the sum of Twenty five—— dollars, and payable as follows, with interest <The receipt of which is hereby acknowledged>
The description of Lot or parcel of land intended in this obligation is as follows, To Wit commencing at the North East corner of a certain spring Lot situated in the South West corner of Lot 29 Block 9 of s Addition to the City of and running West 10 Rods thence North 6 Rods thence East 19 Rods thence South 6 Rods to the place of beginning, 60 Rods be the same more or less.
The interest for each and every note to be paid annually.
Now, if the said Joseph Smith having paid Twenty five dollars according to the tenor of this instrument heirs, executors, or administrators shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid, the amount of said note with such interest as may accrue thereon, according to the tenor and effect thereof, when due. We the said and —— bind ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators, to make, or cause to be made, to the said Joseph Smith Trustee in Trust &c his heirs successors in office and assigns, a good and sufficient Deed for the above described lot on or before the twentieth day of December A. D. 1842 and then this bond shall become null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Given under our hands and seals this nineteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two
