Know all men by these presents that I as princepal and Joseph L Robinson and Eliphalet Boynton as surety all of the City of Illinois are held and by these presents firmly bound unto the siad [said] City of in the penel sum of one thousand dollars for the payment of which well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs and assigns firmly by these presants
The conditions of the above obligation is such that if the said shall truly and faithfully preform the duty of Assessor & Collector in the third ward in the said City of for the year one thousand eight hundred and forty three and make due returns of the same then this obligation to be null and void Otherwise to remain in full force and virtue
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hand & seal at this 22d. day of Novr. AD 1843
