and Ninety Three and three fourth Links thence East Two chains thence south Four chains and Ninety Three and Three Fourth Links thence West to the place of beginning it being more or less.
To Have and to Hold, the afore said premises, together with all and singular the improvements, rights privileges, and appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in anywise appertaining, unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, free from the claim or claims of themselves, their heirs, or assigns, and from the claims of any and every other person or persons claiming the same by, through, or under them or either of them and the said parties of the First part, for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators, Covenant with the said party of the Second part, his heirs and assigns, that they are lawfully seized of the above described premises, that they have good right, full power, and Lawful authority, to sell and convey the same, and that they above described premises are clear and free of all encumbrances; And that they will Warrant and Forever Defend the title thereto, and hereby conveyed, against the Lawful claim or claims of all and every person or persons claiming the same whomsoever.

I, , a Justice of the Peace in and for the aforesaid, do certify that Benjamin Jones and Anna his wife whose signatures appear to the foregoing Deed, are personally known to me to be the persons described in and who executed the same, and who acknowledged the same to be their free and voluntary act and Deed, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. and the said Anna Jones having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined seperate and apart from her said husband acknowledged that she had executed said deed, and relinquished her dower to the Lands therein specified, freely, voluntarily and without any undue inffulince influence of her said husband. Given under my hand and seal this Thirty first day of May A. D. one thousand eight hundred and forty Two.

This Indenture, made the fourteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty Two between Earl B Nourse of the County of Butler and State of of the one part, and Joseph Smith of the county of and State of the other part; Witnesseth, that the said Earl B. Nourse for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and fifty dollers lawful money of the , to him in hand well and truly paid by the said Joseph Smith <​the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath <​granted​>, bargained, sold, conveyed and confirmed,​> and by these presents doth grant, bargain, [p. 24]
