that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said and Mary Hoover having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined separate and apart from their said husbands, acknowledged that they had executed the same, and relinquished their dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of their said husbands. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four

This Indenture, made and entered into, this twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four between and his wife, of the county of and State of , of the one part, and of the county of and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy five dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said her heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of in the State of , viz: A part of Lot number seventy Eight (78) in s Addition to , commencing seven rods South of where the centre of Hibards Street crosses the Centre of Rich Street, running thence West thirteen and a half (13½) rods, Thence South five and a half (5½) rods, Thence East thirteen and a half (13½) rods, Thence North five and a half rods to the place of beginning. Reserving one and a half rods wide along the East end for a road. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said her heirs and assigns forever. And the said and his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said her heirs and assigns, the the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony whereof, the said and his wife of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year first above written
