This Indenture, made and entered into this sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-four between John Greenhow & Sarah [Greenhow] his wife of the County of and State of of the first part, and James Frodsham of the County of St Louis and State of of the second part— Witnesseth, that the said John Greenhow & Sarah his wife parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars Cash in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, the following described Lot or parcel of Land, situate, lying, and being in , County of , and State of , and designated as s addition to , commencing sixteen Rods South from the North West corner of Lot Twenty Eight in Block Six, running from thence three Rods east, thence North to the Centre of Parley Street, thence along the centre of Parley Street to the West line of Lot 28, from thence to the place of beginning. Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in anywise appertaining: To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said John Greenhow & Sarah his wife the aforesaid premises unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim or claims of all & every person whomsoever, do and will Warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony whereof, the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first herein written

I an acting Justice of the Peace within and for said , do hereby certify, that John Greenhow & Sarah Greenhow his wife whose signatures appear to the foregoing Deed of Conveyance, and who are personally known to me to be the identical persons who executed the same, this day appeared before me and have acknowledged that they had signed, sealed and delivered the same, as their free act and deed, for the uses and purposes therein expressed. And, the said Sarah Greenhow wife of the said John Greenhow having been by me made acquainted with the contents of said Deed, and being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband, acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her right of dower in and to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said husband. Given under my hand and seal at my office in this eighth day of April A. D. 1844
