The State of Illinois, , ss. Before me, , a justice of the peace, within and for said , personally came Moses Adams, Wm. M. Powers & Mary Ann Powers the above named grantors and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the above Deed to be their voluntary act for the use and purposes therein expressed. And the said Mary Ann Powers being examined by me separate and apart from her said husband, and the contents of the said Deed being fully made known to her upon such separate examination declared, that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same, and that she is still satisfied therewith. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this second 2nd. day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-four.

This Indenture, made and entered into, this seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four, between and his wife, of the county of and State of , of the one part, and and , of the County of and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said , and his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said and , their heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of in the State of , viz: the residue of Fractional Lot No. four in Block number fourteen in addition to , after taking off a strip from the West side of said lot, sixty feet wide by a line parallel to the West boundary of said lot. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said and their heirs and assigns forever. And the said and his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said and their heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony whereof, the said , and his wife of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year first above written.
