This Indenture made and entered into this third day of april in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four, between and his wife of the county of and state of , of the one part, & of the county of & aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, & confirm unto the said his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the county of in the state of viz:— The West half of fractional Lot No three in Block three, also the East half (except twenty feet off the west side of said <half> lot) in Lot No two in Block No twelve, all in addition to , the last described piece of land is described as follows (to wit) beginning at the North East corner of said lot, thence south eleven rods, thence West seventy nine feet, thence North eleven rods, thence East seventy nine feet, to the beginning.
Together with all and singular the appurtenances, thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said his heirs and assigns forever. And the said and his wife, their heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
In testimony whereof the said and his wife, of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day & year above written.

I , a Justice of the peace in & for said , do certify, that and his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing Deed, & who is personally known to me to be the persons described in, and executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said , having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said deed, and examined seperate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, & without compulsion of her said .
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four.
