This Indenture made and entered into this eighth day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four, between and Mary Ann [Angell Young] his wife, of the county of and state of , of the one part, and Sarah Hillman of the county of and aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and Mary Ann his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Sarah Hillman her heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the county of in the State of , viz: Being a part of lot No three (3) in Block No two (2) commencing three rods or 49½ feet from the corner of Young and Winchester streets, east on Young street running due North across said lot, thence East three rods or 49½ feet, thence South across said lot, thence West three rods or 49½, West to the place of beginning, of ’s revised addition from ’s addition to Nauvoo.
Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Sarah Hillman her heirs and assigns forever. And the said and Mary Ann his wife their heirs and assigns the aforesaid premises unto the said Sarah Hillman her heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
In testimony whereof, the said and Mary Ann his wife, of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year first above written.

I Notary Public, in and for the city of , county and State aforesaid, do certify that and Mary Ann his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that that they had executed the said conveyance for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Mary Ann Young having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said deed, and examined seperate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said .
In testimony whereof I the said Notary, have hereunto set my hand, and affixed my Notarial seal, at the City of , this 10th. day of May A. D. 1844
