Know all men by these presents that and his wife of , Hancock county State of Illinois have for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged as paid us by Benjamin Loss of the same place this day granted, Bargained, sold, conveyed, and confirmed by these presents unto the said Benjamin Loss a certain Lot of ground or parcel of land situate in . State of Illinois and being contained in Lot three (3) in Block three (3) of s Addition to described as follows— to wit:—
Commencing at a point in the centre of Ripley Street, three (3 Rods East from the place where the centre of the aforesaid street crosses the Western Boundary line of the aforesaid lot from thence South one hundred and seventy six feet (176) thence East forty four feet (44) thence North one hundred and seventy six feet (176) to the centre of Ripley treet thence West along said centre forty four (44) feet to the place of beginning— Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Benjamin Loss his heirs, Executors and administrators forever— And the said and his wife their heirs and assigns the aforesaid premises unto the said Benjamin Loss his heirs, Executors and Administrators against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents
In testimony whereof the said and his wife party of the first part have hereunto set their names and affixed their Seals this twelfth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five—

I an acting Justice of the peace in and for said do certify that and his wife whose signatures appear to the foregoing Deed and who are personally known to me to be the identical persons who executed and acknowledged the same to her their own free act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and expressed. And the said the wife being by me made acquainted with the contents of the same and being by me examined seperate and apart from her said whereupon she did confess that she signed the same without co-ercion by her said and that she was still satisfied there with
