This Indenture Made and entered into this thirteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four Between and Thomazin D [Woodward] his wife of the County of and State of of the one part, and George C. Riser of the & aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said and Thomazin D. his wife for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five Dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said George C. Riser his heirs and assigns forever all that tract piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of in the State of , and described on the plat of the City of , as being part of Lot four (4) in Block one hundred and twenty six (126) To wit, Beginning at the distance of Sixty eight feet four and one half inches North of the South East Corner, and thence measuring along main Street three feet South, thence West one hundred feet, thence North three feet, thence East one hundred feet to the place of beginning together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above des-cribed premises unto the said George C. Riser his heirs and assigns forever, and the said and Thomazin D. his wife their heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, Do and will warrant and forever by these presents defend. In testimony whereof the said and Thomazin D. his wife of the first part have hereunto subscribed their hands and seals the day and year first herein written

I a Justice of the peace in and for s’d do certify that and Thomazin D. his wife whose signatures appear to the foregoing and within Deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the said conveyance for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Thomazin D. Woodward having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed and examined separate and apart from her said acknowledged that she had executed the same without any compulsion from her and relinquished her dower in the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily and of her own free will and accord. Given under my hand and seal this thirteenth day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty four
