State of Illinois, Hancock County, City of , sct. I a Justice of the Peace, in and for the said , do certify that and his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing Deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons des-cribed in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined separate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said . In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-four.

This Indenture, made and entered into, this sixteenth day of February in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four, between and Naoma R. [Naomi Holman] his wife, of the county of and State of , of the one part, and Lucy Seeley of the county of and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and Naomi R. his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy-five dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Lucy Seel[e]y her heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of , in the State of , viz: Being a part of Lot No three (3) in Block No one hundred and twenty one (121) according to the plot of the City of , commencing thirty (30) feet from the South East corner of said Lot running West fifty (50) feet, thence North half way across the lot or 5½ rods, thence East fifty (50) feet, thence South to the place of beginning. Being about eighteen (18) rods of ground. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above des-cribed premises unto the said Lucy Seeley her heirs and assigns forever. And the said and Naomi R. his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Lucy Seely her heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony whereof, the said and Naomi R. his wife of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year first above written.
