To the Honbl. the City Council in and for the City of —
We Your petitioners would hereby set forth that we have (as we now suppose) been mistaken in the intention of the ordinance Concerning the public revenue of the City of passed Oct 31— 1842— Where it in Sec 21 requires a publication of Lots & lands not having the tax paid on them &c — and have inadvertantly omitted complying with the Spirit of the Law in that case— And do hereby ask of your honorable body to pardon such fault of omission— And grant a further indulgence of the same agreeable to the provision made in said ordinance— and we will ever pray—
