To the honorable the city council of the city of . We your petitioners would humbly petition your honorable boddy to appoint an Inspector of flour for the convenience of the Eastern part of said and for the convenience of the country sellers of flour as they Enter our from the East, and save the trouble of hauling said flour Down and up the hill in order for inspection— and thereby often prevent buyers from buying in this part of the to the injury of the citizens and the publick at Large— and we would recommend JamesHHavens <John Haven> as a suitable person for said office a man of Integrity a good Judge of flour and universally at home— In so doing we your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray
