Septr. 15th. 1845 Called out to organize, by, order of— the Sheriff of , Ill.— at a meeting of the first regiment Second Cohort of the — the question of continuing the Col. in Office it was voted unanimously that be the Conl. of said regt. After some remarks by . it was voted that be Lt. Col. Unanimously. it was also unanimouly Voted that . Be. Major And that
And appointed Adjudant after transacting other buiseness of the Legieon dismissed to meet on the 16th. at, 9, oclock, A. M. Met pursuant to Previous Notice and completed the organization after which a Call was made for ten Men to assist the sheriff in surpressing the Mob and the following Men were sent to wit Morris— Phelps . Mahlon Johnson and Lorenzo Brown were sent, after which the Regnt. was dismissed with orders to meet the 17th. at. 8. O clock. A.M. met persuant to previous Notice transacted some buiseness and Ajourned to meet X at the signal which was the Fireing of the Cannon again the next day. 18th. met persuant to Notice and Done some buiseness and Ajourned to meet at a Signal Which the Fireing of the Cannon. 19th. 6 Oclock . A.M. Fired The Gun twice as a Signal for the Citizens to [p. [1]]
