Thomas Lanyon was Elected first Lieu. of the fourth Company first Battallion fifth regiment on the [blank] Day of [blank] and James Easton [James A. Eastin] Sicond Lieu. on the same day and also Starling Driggs third Lieu on the same day
On the [blank] day of [blank] W. Watterman [Waterman] Phelps was appointed Color Bearer
On the 4th day of May 1844 John Alger was Elected 3rd Lieutenant of the 3rd Com. 1 Bat to fill the vacancy of who did not accept his commission, [p. 15]
