The People of the State of , to the of said , GREETING:
WE COMMAND YOU TO SUMMON Francis Dixon, Jr. George H Alley, Jerome Flagg, & Samuel G. Flagg if to be found in your , personally to be and appear before the Circuit Court of said , at the Court House, in , on the 17th. day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty 3 to testify, and the truth to speak, in relation to a certain matter in controversy, now depending in the said Court, between plaintiff, and Francis Dixon & Elizabeth Dixon, defendants, at the instance of the said Defendants, laying aside all pretences and excuses whatsoever, under penalty of what the law directs. And make due return of this writ, and of the manner in which you execute the same.
