28 Jan. 1801–after Apr. 1845. Born in Philadelphia. Son of Pierce Divine and Barbara Gibson. Married first Ann, by 1826. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, by 1840. Presided over three church branches in Monmouth Co., New Jersey, 1840. Ordained a high priest by Orson Hyde, 15 Apr. 1841. Moved to New Rochelle, Westchester Co., New York, by Aug. 1842. Married second Margaret M., before 23 Feb. 1844. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, 23 Feb. 1844. Appointed to serve mission to New Jersey, 4 Nov. 1844. Likely moved to Pittsburgh, ca. Nov. 1844. Joined Sidney Rigdon’s Church of Christ, but later left church.
