Biography
29 Sept. 1797–11 Mar. 1872. Farmer, school trustee. Born in Broadalbin, Montgomery Co., New York. Son of Perry Durfee and Annie Salisbury. Married first Ruth McBride, ca. 1824, in Wayne Co., Ohio. Ordained an elder, 2 May 1836, in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. Indicted in State of Missouri v. Gates et al. for Treason, Apr. 1839, in Daviess Co., Missouri. Married second Jane Wheaton, 24 Aug. 1842, in Hancock Co., Illinois. Migrated to Utah Territory, ca. 1851. Served as school trustee in Willow Creek Precinct, Tooele Co., Utah Territory, 1852. Moved to San Salvador Township, San Bernardino Co., California, by June 1860. Moved to Jackson Township, Andrew Co., Missouri, by Aug. 1870. Buried in Savannah, Andrew Co.
