th[e]y wer not all Missourians I know all about it I was in the company and Fankes [Franklin] Worrell the Capt of the Guard was here to manage it took two or three men to hold him that waved his sword and struggled very much he said I am the man who took his sword out of his hand and threw it over the fence. I asked [William] Daniels how he felt to see the act done he said it did not moove him they richly deserved it— he then commenced telling me some names I stopped him and told him to keep that to himself and the conversation between us an an that subject stopped— He stated nothing about the light or the men being paralised

Dereck [Derrick] Fuller
I reside about 6 miles south of this on the road to I have seen Wm M Daniels and have heard had conversation with him about killing the Smiths on the night the Smiths were killed he caught up with me about 1½ miles from here on my road home I do not know that I can tell all he said it was from [p. [41]]
