List was cut out of the 23 July 1842 issue of Wasp and pasted to a single sheet of paper with red adhesive wafers. The certification was written on the single sheet to the right of the newspaper clipping. An unidentified scribe made corrections in black ink to the printed list. At some point the left side of the clipping was torn off, with loss of text.

[Notice is hereby giv]en that application will be made to the Municipal Court of the City of [, held on the fi]rst Monday in September next, for judgement against said lands and [town lots, for said tax]es, interests and costs thereon, and for an order to sell the said lands for [the satisfaction there]of.
[Notice is also give]n that on the 8th day of September next, succeeding the said town of the [said Municipal Cour]t, all the lands against which judgement shall be pronounced, and for the [sale of which such] orders shall be made, will be exposed to public sale at the office of [, in said ,] for the amount of said taxes, interst and cost, due thereon.

I hereby certify that the notice of which the annexed is a copy, has been and published in the Wasp, a weekly news paper printed in , Hancock County, and state of Illinois. The said publication was in the paper published on the 23d of July 1842.
