Decr. 17th. 1842.— Complaint made on Oath by , before Joseph Smith, Mayor, for breach of an Ordinance, entitled “an Ordinance concerning Vagrants & disorderly Persons”.

Decr. 19th 1842.— Subpeona issued for Susan McArthur, Sally McArthur, Henry McArthur, John Tener [Tanner], Albert Tener [Tanner], Levi Knight, & & was returned as having been all served by , Const, fees $1.62½.— Warrant was returned same day, by same Const, endorsed, “personally served, & Prisoners present.— fees 62½ <​cts​>.—

Same day,— all parties being present. Defts pleaded not guilty,— The , & all the Witnesses named in Spna [Subpoena], were sworn, except ,— & Henry Tener [Tanner] & Danl Mecum were also Sworn.— The Witnesses were all examined except .— Whereupon, & on hearing the allegations of all Parties, the Court adjudged a fine of $10.00 each <​agst Defts​>, & Costs of Suit, taxed to $5.31¼, & that do enter into a Recognizance of $50.00, to keep the Peace generally, & especially towards the s, for 6 Mos., & to indemnify the Corpn. agst any charge, & in case of his refusal or inability to give such Secy., then to be confined in Prison for 30 days.

Same day.— entered into Recognizance, And Exeon [] issued for Debt & Costs, directed to the , & delivered to Const., returnable in seventy days.

March 7th. 1843. Exeon returned, with endorsements, as paid in full, together with a Receipt from the City Treasurer, for payt. made, by lodgment with him. [p. 42]
