On the 20th <10th> of May <June> 1843 the Court Martial ordered the an arsnal to be built in the City of , for the security of the public arms at the suggestion of <Lieutenant> General Joseph Smith
on the same day the Court Martial ordered to organize the Second Battalion first Regiment into <a> the <5th> Regiment <of Light Infantry to be the 5 Regt> Second Cohort which was done on the 23 day of June and at Major was elected Colonel and Captain Lieutenant Colonel and Captain Major of the same it then consisted of 4 companies
On the 21 day of the same 1843 month <July> Lieutenant Colonel , was elected Colonel of the first Regiment 2 Cohort to fill the vacancy of resigned
