proceeded to ballot for them, & the ballot was found clear. they also reported unfavourably on the petitions of & , whose petitions were laid over for further consideration. No further business appearing in the first degree the E. A. lodge was dispensed with closed; to stand closed untill tomorrow morning at 8 o clock. The F. C. & E. A. Masons were then requested to withdraw, which being done; a lodge opened in due form on the third degree of Masonry, for the transaction of business.
On motion, It was resolved that be suspended untill the next regular meeting, for disorderly <& boisterous> conduct. The W.M. then read the following charge preferred against Dr by , to wit; “that Dr has palmed himself upon the Masonic Brethren in the organization of Nauvoo lodge U.D. as a regular mason in good standing, when I have reason to believe that he is an expelled Mason from a lodge in Fairfield Ohio, or from Fairfield lodge Ohio.” signed “.”
On motion, it was resolved that Dr be cited to appear before Nauvoo Lodge U.D. on the first Thursday in June next at 6 o clock P.M. to answer to the above charges.
Resolved. That a new Account Book be obtained for the use of the lodge.
Resolved. That 500 Blank Petitions be printed.
Resolved. That cause the Masonic aprons to be painted, and superintend that business.
No further business appearing the Master Masons lodge closed <in due form> to stand closed without date.
