Know all men by these presents, that we and of the County of and State of has this day for and in consideration of the sum of fifty five dollars in hand paid by Elijah Hayden of the and aforesaid bargained and sold unto the said Elijah Hayden a certain lot or piece of land lying and situated in s and s second addition to in said and as will more fully appear by referance to said plat of said addition being the north half of Lot two (2) in Block seven (7) in said addition to the town of . To have and to hold the above described lot or piece of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Elijah Hayden his heirs and assigns forever. And the said , and Julia [Jencks Thompson] his wife for themselves, their heirs and assigns administrators and executors do warrant and forever defend the title of the lot or peice of Land against every person or persons claiming by, through, or under them in any manner whatsoever, or any other persons whatever. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our names and affixed our seals this twentieth day of May in the year of our Lord 1844
