This Indenture made and entered into this the sixteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four bet<we>een and Melinda [Stewart] his wife of the count of and state of of the one part and Tanner C Green of the county of and aforsaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said and Melinda his wife for and in consideration of the sun of one hundred and fifty do<l>lars to them in hand paid the receipt wherof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Tanner C. Green his heirs and assigns forever, all that part or parcel of land situate and being in the county o in the state of viz: a part of Lot No. two in Block No. fourteen in ’s addition to commencing at the north west corner of said lot thence east three rods thence south five and a half rods thence west theree rods thence north to the p[l]ace of begining be the same more or less, together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertainingn to have and to hold the above described premeses unto the said Tanner C green his heirs and assigns forever and the said and Melinda his wife, & there heirs and assigns the aforesaid premises unto the said Tanner C Green his heirs and assigns againts the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrent and forever defend by thees presents. In testimony whereof the said and melinda his wife of the first above written part, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day first above written.

I a justice of the peace in and for said do certify that and Melinda his wife whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed and who are pesonally known to me to be the persons describid in and who executed the same did severally acknowledge the they had executed the said conveyance for the uses and purposes therin mentioned. And the said Melinda Stewart having been by me made acquainted withe the contents of the said deed and examin separate and apart from her said acknowledge that she had executed the same and relinqueshed her dower to the premises therin conveyed voluntarily freely and without compulsion of her said in testimony wherof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred forty four.
