AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING SPIRITUOUS LIQUORS, AND OTHER PURPOSES:
Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the city council of the city of , that before any person shall sell, or dispose of any spirituous or intoxicating drink by a less quantity than one gallon in this , he or they shall first obtain a license from the Mayors Court, for which shall be paid down for the use of the , not less than two hundred nor more than four hundred dollars, (and issuing fees) for one year.
Sec. 2. And be it further ordained, that if any person shall sell or give away, dispose of, to be drank in this , in less quantity than one gallon, any spirituous or intoxicating drink or liquors, without first obtaining such license, they shall pay a fine of not less than twenty-five and not more than four hundred dollars, to be tried before the Mayor.
Sec. 3. And be it further ordained, that all ordinances or parts of ordinances or private grants repugnant to the interest and meaning of this ordinance, are hereby repealed.
Sec. 4. And be it further ordained, that if any person shall be convicted, before the Mayor, of drunkenness in this , he, she, or they shall be fined twenty dollars.—This fine may be paid in labor upon the public streets or other public works of this , at the discretion of the Mayor.
This ordinance to be in force from and after its passage.
