The duties of Captains Commanding Companies it shall be their duty to take Command <​of their respective companies​> at all. Company Batalion Rigamental Cohort or Brigade or legion or D. Musters at the hour spesified by the Officer ordering said Muster <​the same​>, and to cause the roll of there <​respective​> Companys to be Called under there immediate Inspection noting all Delinquents at any such Muster upon the Company roll or report of delinquents made out by them for that purpose.— Which roll or list shall be returnd <​by them​> to the appropriate Court of Assesment of Fines and all to do and perform all other duties appertain[in]g to there office of Captain
That in Case of the death removal absence or of <​resignation​> any Superior officer it shall be the duty of the next officer in rank attacthe to the same Corps to asume the Command and perform all the duties that would have devolvd <​or​> any such Commanding officer were the presant and to exercise the same Untill such superior shall return or the vacancy be filld agreeably to the provisions of this act in like maner if it should hapen at any time that there is no Commisioned officer belonging to any Company it shall be the duty of the senior noncommisioned officer [p.
