The Court Martial on the 20th of February, ordered that enlist and organize a band of music and exceeding twenty men. It was also reported that had been elected Captain in the Place of and Lieutenant in the place of who had been promoted.
On the 1st day of May 1841 the first regiment first Cohort was organized and Captain was elected Colonel and Captain , Lieutenant Colonel, and Captain Major of the Same, consisting of 4 companies.
On the Same day the first Regiment Second Cohort was organized and Captain was elected Colonel and Captain Lieutenant Colonel and Captain Major of the same, consisting of 4 companies
Also on the same day the second Regiment Second Cohort was organized, and Captain was elected Colonel and Captain Lieutenant Colonel and Aaron H. Golden Major of the same, consisting of 4 companys
On the third day of July 1841 the second Regiment first Cohort, was organized and Captain george Coulsin [Coulson] was elected Colonel, and Lieutenant Colonel and Major of the Same, consisting of 4 companies.
on the same day the third Regiment second Cohort was organized and was Elected Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel and Captain Major consisting of 4 companies.
on the the 3rd day of July 1841 the was called out to selebrate our National independence (the 4th being sunday), and was reviewed by Lieutenant General Joseph Smith, who made <an eloquent &> and patriotic speech to the troops and strongly testified of his regard for our national wellfare and his willingness to lay down his life for in defence of his country, and closed with these remarkable words “I would ask no greater boon than to lay down my life for my country.” [p.
