all s [John C. Bennett’s] plans and purposes,— there is one thing I wish to Speak about viz— the affair that the lord revealed unto you concerning me and annother had I done as the Spirit directed me I would have Confessed evrything to you before I left But over perswaudid me not to tel you until my return, I Covenanted with God to tel you immediately after the Sin was Commited I Came to — this Summer almost on purpose to lay the whole transaction before you and take your Council. I will do So the first oppertunity. but My Dear Brother dont think for one moment that I ever was an adulterer at heart no God [k]nows I never was, nor dont you think we Continued to Sin, no we did not, but Bowed before the lord and Sought his pardon and determined to Sin no more I was also under the influence of many Different pashens [passions] at the time I will tel you all when I See you, But howeaver through the mercy of the lord evrything has turned out a hundred times Better than I exspected. I know you must have prayed for me evry thing is now So arranged no Shade of testomony Can be brought against me only [p. [2]]
