This Indenture made this fourteenth day of June in the year or our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two between John J. Hicok of the county of and state of , of the one part, and , and , committee for the building of the in the city of , of the same place, of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John J. Hicok for and in consideration of the sum <​of​> Twelve hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, doth hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said , , and all his (the said Hicok) right, title and interest of in and to that certain tract or parcel of land known and described as follows, being so much of Lot No. Twelve (12) in Block No. Three (3) of s Addition to the Town of (now city of ) in the county of and aforesaid, as is included within the following boundaries To wit, by a line commencing at a point in the west line of said Lot forty three feet from the North west corner of said lot, and running along said west line south Eleven Rods six and a half feet to the south west corner of said lot, thence East Five (5) rods along the south line of said lot, Thence North Eleven Rods six and a half feet, thence west Five (5) rods to the point of commencement containing fifty seven square rods, together with the appurtenances thereunto appertaining. To have and to hold unto the said , and their heirs and assigns forever— And the said John J. Hicok the aforesaid premises unto the said , and and their heirs, against the claims of all persons claiming of, in, and through him (the (said Hicok) will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
