This Indenture made and entered into this Sixth day of January in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five, between Emery Barnes and Huldah Barnes his wife, of the county of and State of , of the one part, and of the county of and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Emery Barnes and Huldah Barnes his wife, for & in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby, grant bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said his heirs and assigns forever. all that part or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of in the state of , viz;— The East part of Lot number four in Block number twenty two of s addition to , commencing at the North East corner of said lot and running thence West sixty feet, thence South parrallell with the East line of said lot Eleven Rods to the South line, thence along the South line to the South East corner of said lot, thence North to the place of beginning, to contain one fourth of an acre.
Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Emery Barnes and Huldah his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises unto the said his heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do & will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
In testimony whereof the said Emery Barnes & Huldah Barnes his wife, of the first part, have hereunto set his hand and seals, the day & year above written.

I, a Justice of the Peace, in & for the said , do certify, that the said Emery Barnes & Huldah his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed, and who are personally known to me, to be the persons described in, & who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Huldah Barnes having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said deed, and examined seperate and apart from her said husband, acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntary, freely, & without compulsion of her said husband.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this sixth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five.
