the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Lorensa Murray having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined separate and apart from her said acknowledged that she had executed the same and relinquished her right to Dower to the premises therein conveyed voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said . This Indenture made this ninth (9) day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three between & Lorensa Murr[a]y his wife of the County of & State of of the one part and of the & aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said & Lorensa his wife for & in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey & confirm unto the said his heirs & assigns for ever all that tract or parcel of land situate & being in the County of in the State of viz, The East half of the South West quarter in Block No Two (2) in s Addition to the City of , bounded on the South by Mulholland Street & on the West by land heretofore deeded to the said by the said , and also on the North by Land now owned by the said , and on the East by land owned by , containing one half acre. Together with all & singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have & to hold the above described premises unto the said his heirs & assigns forever. And the said & Lorensa Murry his wife the aforesaid premises unto the said his heirs and assigns against the claims or claims of all & every person whomsoever do & will warrant & forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said & Lorensa Murry his wife of the first part have hereunto set their hands & seals this day & year as above written. L. S Lorensa Murry L. S. Signed sealed & delivered in presence of . . State of Illinois, , ss. I a Justice of the Peace in & for the & aforesaid do certify that & Lorensa his wife whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed & who are personally known to me to be the persons described in & who executed the same did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance for the uses & purposes therein mentioned. And the said Lorensa Murry having been by me made acquainted with the contents of said deed & examined separate & apart from her said acknowledged that she had executed the same & relinquis<h>ed her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely and without compulsion of her said .
