Biography
18 Nov. 1818–31 Jan. 1891. Stonemason, writer. Born in Leroy, Genesee Co., New York. Son of David LeBaron and Lydia Batchelder. Moved to Pennsylvania, ca. 1835. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jan. 1836, in Pennsylvania. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, ca. 1836. Ordained a priest in Ohio. Served mission in central Ohio. Married first Clarissa Bostwick, 16 Nov. 1841, in Newstead, Erie Co., New York. JS deeded land in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, to him, June 1842. Served mission to South Carolina, 1844. Divorced, likely before 1850. Served mission to England, 1850. Married second Sarah Jeffs, ca. 1850, in England. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley; arrived, Nov. 1852. Settled in Payson, Utah Co., Utah Territory. Moved to Springville, Utah Co., by 1860. Withdrew from church, early 1860s. Moved to Leeds Precinct, Washington Co., Utah Territory, by 1880. Died in Salt Lake City.
