<​while the court was in session 2 boys were seen fighting in the street. by Mills tavern. the mayor saw it. & ran over immediately & caught one of the boys (who had began the to fight with clubs) & stoppd him. & then, the other. and gave the bystande[r]s a lecture for not interfering in such cases.— & retur[ne]d to Court​>

<​This day presentd a petition to the house of Representative. signed by 51,863 citizens of praying Congress “to pass such acts and propose such amendme[n]ts to the constitution. as will separate the petitioners from all connection with slavery the institution of slavery.”——​>

Tuesday February 21. 1843. Mayors court. at the smoke house. 10 A.M. City of vs. Robert Taylor. & Thomas J. Morgan plad [pled] guilty. Taylor for Stealing— & Morgan for receiving— sentencd 6 months imprisonment in . 11 went to Temple. found preaching about [p. [200]]
