in hell this night for had it not been for him I would have put you there some where about this time came up and said To <me,> the decision is a damned hard one and I have washed my hands against such cool and deliberate murder, <&> says he further Told him <me> that General Gray <Graham> & several others (names not recollected) were with him in the decision and opposed it with all their power that he should move his soldiers away by daylight in the morning that they should not witness such a heartless murder.
