Biography

2 Mar. 1801–9 Aug. 1869. Blacksmith. Born in Hinesburg, Chittenden Co., Vermont. Son of Heman Bostwick and Belinda Palmer. Married first Sarah Eddy, 26 Mar. 1820. Moved to Onondaga, Onondaga Co., New York, by 1829. Married second Sarah Bardwell, 26 Mar. 1830. Moved to Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York, by 1832; to Perry Co., Missouri, by 1840; to Randolph Co., Illinois, by Dec. 1840; to Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, by 1842; and to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, by Nov. 1843. Fined for “slanderous language concerning Hyrum and certain females of Nauvoo” in court case of City of Nauvoo v. O. F. Bostwick. Moved to New Orleans, by 1850. Moved to Menard, Randolph Co., by 1860. Died in Naples, Scott Co., Illinois.
