Monday Feb 26— 1844. at home
P.M. held Court at the [.] City of . vs. . on complaint of for slanderous Language conering [concerning] and certain f[e]males— of fined — $50.00 & costs.—
his attorney. gave notice he should appeal to the mun[i]cipal court & then to the circuit cou[r]t.— I told him what I thought of him— & for trying to cary such a suit to . it was to stir up the mob— & bring them upon us.— &.—
