Saturday january 6. At home about ten o clock rode out in a sleigh with snow about 3 4 inches deep.
county constable. went to . with a precept from . J. P. [justice of the peace]— to apprehend. Milton Cook in a case of Bastardy.— on complaint of Oliv[e] Smith.— not a member of the chu[r]ch.— made the arrest & the prisoner was— taken by him f[ro]m home by force of arms and he retu[rn]ed to this .— [5 lines blank]
