This day, to wit, the ninth of July in the year last aforesaid, came the defendants and L[ewis] C. Bidamon by their <and> solicitor <J[ohn] M. Ferris>, by their solicitor and filed their answer herein.
And now comes the said , Lewis C. Bidamon her husband and John M. Ferris admr. of the Estate of Joseph Smith decd., and for answer to the supplemental bill filed herein say that they know nothing about the matter; and the said and Lewis C. Bidamon her husband aver and insist that if the allegations of said bill are true the said is entitled to dower in said premises.
And the said defendants pray that they may be discharged with their reasonable expenses
