Ulto. of any amount; excessively warm, Ther. 98½ Fah.; after sunset the clouds gathered dense and black, accompanied by lightning which became so constant and the flashes so near each other, as to be almost one continued flash, lighter than noon day; the rain descending in torrents, the wind tremendous, prostrating many trees and some houses.
