Revelation, 11 November 1831–A [D&C 69]
Received on the. 11 of Oct 1831
Hearken unto me saith the Lord for verily I say unto you for my Servent s sake it is not wisdom in me that he should be intrusted with the commandments & moneys which he shall carry unto the Land of Zion except one go with him who will be true & faithfull wherefore I the Lord willeth that my Servent shall go with my servent & also that he observe to continue in writing & makeing a history of all the important things which he shall observe & know concerning my & also that he receive council & assistance from my Servent & others & also that my Saints which are abroad in the Earth should send forth their accounts to the Land of Zion for the Land of Zion shall be a seat & a place to receive & do all these things nevertheless let my Servnt travel many times from place to place & from Church to Church that he may the more easily obtain knowledge Preaching & expounding writing cop[y]ing & selecting & obtain[in]g all things which shall be for the good of the Church & for the rising generations which shall grow up on the Land of Zion to possess it from generations to generations forever & ever Amen

To the in the Land of Zion in addition to the respecting Church business verily I say unto you saith the Lord of hosts there must needs be presiding presiding to preside over them who are of the office of an Elder & also over them who are of the office of a Priest & also over them who are of the office of a Teacher in like manner And also the wherefore from Deacon to Teacher & from Teacher to Priest & from Priest to Elder severally as they are appointed, according to the then cometh the which is the greatest of all wherefore it must needs be that one be appointed of the high Priest hood to preside over the & he shall be called or in other high words the Presiding high Priest hood over the high Priesthood of the Church from the same cometh the administring of & blessings upon the Church by the wherefore the office of a is not equal unto it for the office of a Bishop is in administering all things temporal things nevertheless a Bishop must be chosen from the high Priesthood that he may be set apart unto the ministering of temporal things having a knowledge of them by the Spirit of truth & also to be a Judge in Israel to do the business of the Church to sit down in Judgement [p. 122]
