<​5​> Saturday 5[th.] High council met at my office. Copy of the minutes, “Joseph Smith Jr preferred charges against <​Elder​> , Predicated on the authority of 2 letters one fom . the other from & , accusing of as follows 1st X (H. C. 66 76. 67 77. 78) parties.
Saturday 5[th.] Elders & went from to , and in the evening organized a company of Saints. bound for by choosing El. to preside, with 6 counsellors.
6 September 1840 • Sunday
<​6​> Sunday preached. On Monday night & staid on board the North America with the Saints & on Tuesday morning about 9 oclock the vessel went out with a steamer; & the Elders accompanied them 15 or 20 miles. <​& left them in good spirits:​> & returned to . the same evening & on the 10th..

<​This day Elder , who had previously furnished £.250 towards printing the Hymn book, Book of Mormon &c, relinquished all claim to said money except such assistance as his friends, who might wish to emigrate to the next season might need, leaving the remainder to the disposal of the , & , who borrowed said money, for the benefit of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, forever, Also the avails of the Gadfield Elm Chapel. when sold.​>

<​11​> Friday 11, There was a terrible earthquake at Mt Arasat Ararat, which destroyed the town of Makitchevan, damaged all the buildings of Erivan, and devastated the two districts of Sharour & Sourmate in Armenia. A considiable mass was loosened from Mt Ararat and destroyed everything in its way for near 5 mi The village of Akhouli was buried & 1000 inhabitants
