<13> Monday 13th. Elders & arrived at , England.
<14> Tuesday 14[th.] About this time and arrived in .
<17> Friday 17[th.] A special council was held at the house of in . Prest. scribe, present, , , , & . Council decided that Elders & should go to the Potteries in Staffordshire; Elders & to ; to with Elder , & go where the spirit directs; that the Elders of the council communicate with the presidency at once a month. — & write to Bros. [Alexander] Wright & [Samuel] Mulliner in Scotland, & hold no gen conferene until more of the 12 arrive.
<Elders & went to canaan connecticut with Edwin D. Pierson.>
<18> Saturday 18th. Elders and started for the Potteries.
<19> <Sunday 19> The High council at voted to donate a <city> lot to Bro James Hendrix Hendrix [Hendricks]. who was shot in also voted to build him a house, also donated a house & lot to Father .
Elders & preached at Sheffield Mills. where he staid till the 26th.
<22> Wednesday 22 Elders & went to . and commenced their missions.
<25> Saturday 25 About this time I visited the Saints at Brandy .— where I spent some days & returned to
<27> Monday 27, Brothers [Gibson] Smith & conveyed Elder & to where they tarried till the 31st. about the last of this month or first of February I left— , for in company with Brothers. , , & , Travelling by railroad having sold my carriage, & having left sick in .
<31> Friday 31. Elders and took steembot [steamboat] from for ; when within 18 miles of the city they took the stage & arrived at their destination about 10 oclock at night, when they alighted from the carriage they had not funds to pay their fare & asked Capt Stone to pay their bill, 50 cts. which he very readily did.— & they found Elder s house in about 5 minutes [p. 2]
